Searchplex is a specialist search and retrieval engineering firm founded in the Netherlands and built as a distributed team of senior practitioners.
We bring together people who have designed, built, tuned, and scaled production search systems across legal technology, publishing, enterprise platforms, research, and e-commerce. Our background spans the full retrieval stack: indexing, ranking, relevance tuning, data modeling, infrastructure, and AI-native retrieval.
We are deliberately focused. Searchplex is not a general software consultancy and not a staffing platform. We work on the part that matters most: the retrieval architecture underneath high-stakes search, recommendation, and RAG systems — where precision, scale, and reliability are not optional.

Legacy keyword stacks stretched beyond their limits. Vector search added as a bolt-on. RAG layered on top without enough grounding, control, or evaluation. Agentic systems built on foundations that could not support them in production.
